Based on Article 8, Section 28 of the 2017 Revised Student’s Handbook of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), students are not allowed to take more units than what is prescribed in their curriculum per semester — unless they meet specific conditions.
You may be allowed to overload if:
* You are a graduating student, or
* You had a grade average of 2.0 or better in the previous semester and you get approval from the Department Head and College Dean.
Graduating students may be allowed to take up to 28 units in a semester, but no more than 9 additional units beyond the regular load. This overload must happen within the academic year the student is expected to graduate.
For non-graduating students, you must have carried a full load in the previous semester to qualify for any overload.
Students who will be doing On-the-Job Training (OJT), apprenticeship, or its equivalent in the following semester may be allowed to take up to three (3) additional subjects as an overload.
All overload requests are handled on a case-to-case basis and require approval, potentially by the University President under certain conditions.
