Based on Chapter XIV, Article 58, Section 205 and Section 209 of the EVSU 2017 Revised University Students’ Handbook, strictly follow the national law Republic Act No. 7877 or the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995. EVSU guarantees full respect for human dignity and prohibits all forms of sexual harassment in academic, employment, or training environments.
The university implements this through:
* RA 7877 and its IRR
* 2017 Revised Administrative Disciplinary Rules on Sexual Harassment in EVSU
* Policies approved by the EVSU Board of Regents
Sexual harassment can take many forms, and the following actions are considered violations:
* Physical and Verbal Forms:
*** Unwanted touching, pinching, kissing, or brushing against someone's body
*** Malicious gestures or overt sexual advances
*** Lewd comments or sexual jokes, even after being told to stop
*** Repeated requests for dates after rejection
*** Asking for sexual favors in exchange for grades
* Online or Indirect Harassment:
*** Sending lewd messages or images via Facebook, phone, or any platform
*** Staring or leering in a sexual or threatening way
*** Displaying loud, offensive images or publications in school areas
*** Using sexually suggestive letters, notes, or objects
* Inappropriate Language and Conduct:
*** Cursing or calling women degrading names in public
*** Interrogating someone about their private or sexual life (outside of valid medical exams)
*** Public staging of indecent or immoral shows
*** Printing or showing pornographic materials, especially those objectifying women
These actions are considered unlawful, offensive, and punishable, and EVSU has authorized committees to handle these cases seriously. Students and staff are encouraged to report any incidents for proper investigation and disciplinary action.
