Based on Article 24, Section 20 of the 2017 Revised Student’s Handbook of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), here are the guidelines for the conferment of Latin Honors:

Important:
  • A student who tests positive in the drug test will automatically be disqualified.
  • Honors may also be revoked if a graduate is later found guilty of serious violations involving illegal drugs, subject to University and government policies.

Grade Requirements
To qualify for Latin Honors, your General Weighted Average (GWA) must fall within the following ranges (computed up to two decimal places):

• Summa Cum Laude – 1.00 to 1.20

You must also:

Note: Grades in Physical Education (PE) and NSTP are excluded from the GWA computation.

Students who pre-qualify must undergo a validation process conducted by the Committee on Conferment with Honors (CCH).

The evaluation consists of:
  • Interview – 10%
  • Written Examination – 10%
  • Academic Grades (GWA) – 80%
Total: 100%

To officially receive Latin Honors, a student must obtain at least 85% average performance during the validation process.
